Cudahy Home Damaged in Fire

Two Cudahy families were displaced by an early afternoon fire in the 3400 block of E. Armour Ave. on Oct. 23.

According to Cudahy Fire Chief Dan Mayer, the fire started in a first floor bedroom. While the cause is still under investigation, it appeared that a cat may have knocked over a lit candle.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the entire building was filled with smoke, making it difficult to find the seat of the fire. The fire was quickly knocked down once firefighters located the blaze.

Firefighters from St. Francis, Oak Creek and South Milwaukee also responded to the fire.

Red Cross is assisting the residents of the duplex.
