Bucyrus International Cycling Classic in South Milwaukee

Point Root Beer International Cycling Classic and Superweek Pro Tour made a stop in South Milwaukee on July 20. International Cycling Week races in Cudahy

Dan Martin of El Dorado Hills, CA leads a breakaway around a the corner from Squire Ave to Kirkwood Ave during the Men's Masters 35+ race.

The Point Premium Root Beer International Cycling Classic made its first stop in Cudahy with The South Shore Cyclery Classic on July 15.

Racing started at 10 am and the final race of the day, the Men's Pro 1/2 is scheduled to begin at 5:45pm.

Car Crashes Over Cliff in Warnimont Park

Cudahy firefighters tend to a driver who went off the cliff in Warnimont Park on July 14.

Witnesses estimated the driver of a car that went off the cliff at Warnimont Park was traveling at nearly 80 MPH and said he never braked.

Firefighters from Cudahy, South Milwaukee and St. Francis worked for more than an hour to extricate the driver from his partially submerged car and bring him to the top of the cliff. The driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital by Flight For Life.

Two dogs rescued from Cudahy fire

Two dogs were rescued from a house fire in the 3600 block of East Hammond Ave. in Cudahy on Nov. 2.

Firefighters responded after a neighbor called to report smoke from the house. Early reports indicated that the occupants may have still been inside. Because of those concerns, firefighters entered the home immediately and searched for any people who may have been trapped inside. No people were found inside.

Firefighters found and extinquished the fire in the front of the house.

Battalion Chief Robert Schmidt said that a subsequent search found two dogs in the basement, who were rescued unharmed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

SM playoff moved to Greendale

The South Milwaukee Rockets' second round playoff game vs Lake Geneva Badger will be played at Greendale High School. The game is scheduled for a 4pm kickoff on Saturday, October 31.

Greendale High School is located at 6801 Southway.
